Northwest Embroidery just bought a new 8 head Tajima from Hirsch. This is the “stretch” machine, which will be nice for jacket backs and Carhartt jackets.  Doug from Hirsch came down to help us unload. Doug is exited to sell us another Tajima! Thanks Doug and Hirsch

San Mar Catalogues & Postal Rates

Posted by Jim on October 19, 2008

The post office is now charging us $5.00 to send out San Mar catalogues. The catalogues are just great. We have over 2,000 of them that we normally send to our customers. At $5.00 a pop we’ll still do it but now have to spread the time frame. Lets lobby San Mar to come up with a smaller catalogue for direct mail.

NW Embroidery Sponsors Port of Tacoma Chowdown

Chowdown
Chowdown

Once again the Port of Tacoma Chowdown went down with great success. This year they had over 2,500 people come to the annual seafood feed. Past President, Brian Egan, said it was the biggest he could remember in 20 years.  Northwest Embroidery donated Chowdown baseball caps for all the attendees. Donating caps to local events is a great marketing idea, says Jim Mickelson, CEO of NW Embroidery. Jim started donating caps to the Chowdown over 30 years ago.  The 2009 Chowdown looks like it will be bigger than ever. Brian has some great donors from the Micorsoft Corporation up in Redmond. Looks like NW Embroidery will be donating 3,000 plus caps for 2009. Remember your local events and “cap” them off with a baseball cap!

Staff Photos for Employees

Staff Photo 1999

Many employeers don’t realize how important it is to take a staff photo at least once a year. Employees enjoy working for their company and like to have memories and a souvenir from the places they work. Here at NW Embroidery we take company photos twice a year. We print out the photos and give them to all the staff members. We started out with our first group photo back in 1999, which you can see above. You can see all the happy employees in their white “Flag” shirts. USA pride and company spirit is what keeps America GREAT!

Holiday Parties are a great moral booster
Holiday Parties are a great moral booster

With the economic slow down, many companies are deciding to cancel their holiday parties. Holiday parties are extremely important in building employee “team work” and friendship. NW Embroidery has been providing holiday parties for 30 years straight. Employees with perfect attendance throughout the year get 1 weeks of vacation in January. It pays in the long run to celebrate with your employees. Above: Jim Mickelson presents 30 year employee, Carolin Bray, with an all expense paid Caribbean Cruise.
